Programming for Doc Scott, the University Network on Telstar 6
This is for those that have a fixed dish that will be dedicated to T6 and Doc Scott.
When you receive your satellite receiver it will be set up for receiving programming on Telstar 5, or no programming at all, you must change that for Telstar 6., the satellite that Doc Scott is on. To program the receiver we will use the 8 light blue buttons in the middle of the remote control. Press the menu button which is top left blue button. Note at the bottom of the page there is a diagram showing which buttons do what. Now scroll to the right and highlight the setup tab. See below left and right. Now scroll down to "LNB Port" and press enter, lower right of left down-left arrow button, This will open the "lnb port setup" screen. Scroll down to line 4 "Satellite(s)" and press enter. This will open a window within the window, scroll down and highlight "Telstar 6". Press enter placing check before Telstar 6 and press exit. Now you will see the 4th screen below.

Highlight Dish Type enter, and select Fixed. Highlight LNb type and select Ku band. your screen should look like the 4th one above. You may need to reenter Telstar 6.
Now press "Exit" once, highlight "CH Search" and press enter. This will open up the "Channel Search" screen, see below. Highlight "satellite" press "enter", scroll down to "Telstar 6" and press "Enter". Scroll down to line 3, "TP Index" and press "enter" Most but not all receivers are preprogrammed TP 3 wit the information for doc scott. If not scroll down until you see a selection that has the numbers 11862. Press enter and make selections until you see a TP that has the following information Frequency 11862, "Symbol Rate 3516, Polorization = Vertical. This is the information for euGene. After scanning you may wind up with numbers that differ slightly from these. Don't worry, they will work If you can not find these settings, select "new" and punch in your own numbers. When you are done your screen should look like the one below. Very important! highlight say "TP Index and press "enter" this will activate the meter. When you have a lock on the "Satellite and Channel" your bars STR and Qual bars will turn "gold". If they are reddish and read say 68 and 35, your meter is NOT operating. The screen below is locked onto T6, TP 3. Move your dish until the bars turn from red to gold and try to maximize the numbers, especially the quality. 68 and 68 are excellent for this machine. Numbers are only relative and vary from model to model of receiver. See below. Now scroll down to scan type, enter, select "One Sat", enter, scroll and highlight "scan" and press enter. your receiver will now find the stations. When the screen say "scan complete" exit out of all menus and save changes.
Frequency, if l1865 doesnt lock try 11862

You may also see news feeds and Bloomberg financial.
You can use any active transponder to find a station on any bird. If you plan to store programming from multiple satellites into the receiver memory go to "LNB Port Setup" in the setup folder, change line 2 to DiSEqC 1.2, highlight satellite, press enter and check off all of the satellites you wish to store in memory. If you ever wish add a motor to move the dish, you do that through the "DiSEqC 1.2 Setup" folder.

Enjoy!
