Why multiple receivers? HOME
Are any of you old enough to remember the big Magnavox home entertainment centers? They had everything; TV, record player, the latest 8 track tape player, everything but a cappuccino dispenser. Owners loved them for about the first year. Then something new would come along, new tape players, DVD players, and the list went on. The owner was faced with either having to replace the whole unit or perhaps with some major surgery add a now component. After a couple of years the tv would blow a hole through the circuit board, expensive repairs or you have a 200 pound record player. I have even seen customers put a new tv on top and replace the built in TV with a fish tank. I am sure that you can finish the story. This is why the premium end consumer electronics industry has gone to component systems! This is why we offer components separately. This is why we do NOT sell a satellite receiver that does analog, and DVB together. This is why we do NOT offer a receiver that has a built in power supply for a big 10 foot dish! If you want to control that 10 foot dish we offer a separate power supply. If you want to move a small dish, the power supply is built into the mount. Not only are our products much more reliable then the home entertainment centers of the 1960s, but they are much more flexible. You can use many different dishes with the use of switches. You can move just about any type of dish across the arc, and the list goes on and on. TWO SATELLITE RECEIVERS; If you watch satellite just to look at a few predetermined stations, i.e. if all you want to watch is Doc Scott, or RTPi then all you need is one receiver... BUT if you like to go looking around for those hidden news feeds, the big game, or just want to see what is new then a Blind Search receiver is for you . The blind search receiver does one thing very well, if finds stuff that quite frankly the providers don't really want you to see. Have you seen any good car chases down the freeway lately? We have! Blind search receivers find stuff but they are not very good at storing and indexing what they have found. They do not store by satellite. On the other hand our premium receivers are excellent at handling data. They will list programming by satellite! And the list goes on and on. Many serious hobbyist will own both a both a Blind Search receiver like a Satworks, as well as a receiver like a BEC 5100, 2300 or a BEC 6600+ or 2000. It is just easier to do the job that way. Try to list and re-label and keep track of 1000 channels on a Blind Search receiver, it will drive you nuts. As of now it is cost effective to keep the blind search receivers as tools for searching and the premium receivers as your main receivers.
